India defeats Korea 3-1 to register 4th consecutive win at Men’s Asian Champions Trophy in China

In hockey, defending champion India defeated Korea 3-1 to register their fourth consecutive win at the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy tournament in Hulunbuir, China. Araijeet Singh Hundal and skipper Harmanpreet Singh were the goal scorers for India against the Koreans. Korea’s lone goal came from Yang Jihun off a penalty corner.

India had already secured a semifinal spot after defeating China and Japan before thrashing last year’s runner-up, Malaysia. India will next take on arch-rival Pakistan on Saturday in its final league match. The six-team tournament is being played in a round-robin format, with the top four teams qualifying for the semifinals on September 16. The final is scheduled for September 17.
