A comprehensive training program for Master Volunteers under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was successfully conducted through a daylong workshop here at Agartala on Friday.
The workshop was held under the joint initiative of the West Tripura District Administration Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education and with the support of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Representatives of the State Defense Department, Education and Health Department and various voluntary organizations associated with Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan program participated in the workshop.
The initiative aims to strengthen the district’s efforts in combating substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
Briefing about the agenda of the workshop, the Additional District Magistrate of the West Tripura district Sajal Biswas highlighted the various aspects of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' programme and said that the media of the state has a special role to play in building a drug free society.
A team of 80 master volunteers has been formed under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Programme, he said, adding that the master volunteers comprises of representatives of higher education, primary education, health, social welfare and social education department, district administration, defense department and various drug free centers.
The training saw enthusiastic participation, equipping volunteers with knowledge, tools, and resources to engage with the community effectively. This initiative marks another milestone in Tripura government’s commitment to building a drug-free and healthier society.
