World Red Cross Day Observed at Agartala

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday attended the observance of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2025 organized by Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch at Agartala.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday took to social media and wrote, the Indian Red Cross Society has been engaged in humanitarian services for a long time through various social welfare activities. Their volunteers always come forward to provide voluntary services in areas such as addressing blood shortages, serving the distressed, raising awareness about substance abuse, and disaster management.

During the programme Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha also virtually inaugurated district-level blood donation camps.

The event witnessed the presence of senior officials, Red Cross members, volunteers, and representatives from various organizations committed to social welfare. World Red Cross Day is observed globally on May 8th to honor the principles of the Red Cross Movement and commemorate the birth anniversary of its founder, Henry Dunant.
