Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha on Sunday visited the flood-affected areas in Agartala, urging residents to remain calm amidst unprecedented rainfall. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha was accompanied by MP Rajya Sabha Rajib Bhattacharjee, Mayor of AMC Dipak Majumder, Revenue secretary Brijesh Pandey and West Tripura District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar among other officials.
Dr Saha also interacted with the residents during his visit. Later, he assessed the flood situation in Agartala. He urged the administration to prioritize relief measures and work together to tackle this natural disaster with collective efforts and support for those affected.
Speaking to the reporters, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said that over the past two incessant rainfalls has badly disrupted the normal life and created flood situation in Tripura and some other parts of Northeast. Agartala also saw water-logging due to heavy rainfall but the situation improved with the channels passing the rain water are working well. Around 25 to 30 shelter houses have been opened in West Tripura, he added.
