Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday hailed the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a ‘golden period’ of unwavering dedication to public service, bringing transformative progress in economic revival, social justice, cultural pride, and national security.
Speaking at a press conference to mark 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha highlighted that "Before 2014, we were a fragile and unstable economy India ranked 11th in the World. In the last 11 years, it has climbed and is now the fourth-largest economy in the world.
He further said Prime Minister’s HIRA (highways, internet way, railway, and airway) model of development gave a boost to connectivity in the northeast. Under Narendra Modi’s rule, all the northeastern states have been connected by railways, new national highways, sustainable air connectivity, and high-speed internet services. The people of northeast had a feeling of alienation because of long suppression in terms of communication and development, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has erased and made the region on a par with other parts of the country. The PM’s policies and DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system for cutting out middlemen and ensuring transparency, he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha also unveiled a booklet at the State BJP headquarter during the press conference, highlighting 11 years of transformative leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Rajib Bhattacharjee and others were also present.
