Amit Shah Congratulates NCB for Dismantling Global Drug Cartel

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday lauded the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and other law enforcement agencies for successfully dismantling a major transnational drug trafficking syndicate. He said the operation demonstrates the government's firm resolve to eradicate drug cartels and safeguard the nation's youth.

In what is being hailed as one of the most extensive crackdowns on the illegal pharmaceutical drug trade, the NCB — in coordination with multiple domestic and international agencies — has busted a global drug network operating across four continents and more than ten countries.

“This probe is a stellar example of multi-agency coordination,” Shah said, noting that the operation led to eight arrests and the seizure of five consignments. He added that the success of the mission has triggered follow-up crackdowns in the United States and Australia, disrupting key components of the drug syndicate.

The cartel was using sophisticated technologies such as encrypted digital platforms, crypto payments, and anonymous drop shipping models to smuggle controlled pharmaceutical drugs globally.

Mr. Shah emphasized that Indian agencies are constantly evolving to track and dismantle such modern forms of drug trafficking. “We are closely monitoring advanced methods like cryptocurrency transactions and anonymous shipping to stay ahead of criminal syndicates,” he said.

The Home Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to a drug-free India, vowing that no network, no matter how global or technologically advanced, will escape the country’s enforcement radar.
