CM Dr. Manik Saha commends Tripura Medical College for Outstanding Healthcare and Community Service

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday praised the Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, calling it a “shining example” in the state’s healthcare sector.

Speaking at a special event held at the hospital’s Vivekananda Auditorium, Dr. Saha highlighted his longstanding professional association with the institution and lauded its consistent efforts in providing not just quality medical services but also contributing meaningfully to community welfare.

The event was jointly organized by the hospital authorities, the TMC Employees’ Association, and the Rotary Club of Aspiring Agartala. Several social welfare initiatives were launched during the program: Free orthotic support devices were distributed to patients who had undergone knee and hip replacement surgeries. Free spectacles were provided to children under 14 with vision problems. A blood donation camp was held, where the Chief Minister encouraged and appreciated voluntary donors. A two-day tree plantation drive, ‘Van Mahotsav’, was inaugurated on the hospital campus to promote environmental awareness.

Dr. Saha noted that such community-focused activities not only make the healthcare system more compassionate but also foster greater awareness and a sense of responsibility among citizens.

“These kinds of initiatives make healthcare more humane and help build a conscious and responsible society,” the Chief Minister said.
