PM Modi to Visits Assam to Flag Off New Trains, Launch Development Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam this evening as part of a two-day trip focused on cultural celebrations and infrastructure development.

Today, the Prime Minister will participate in Bagurumba Dwhou 2026, a traditional Bodo cultural programme, at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Guwahati around 6 PM. The event will feature a mass performance of the Bagurumba dance by over 10,000 Bodo artists.

Tomorrow, PM Modi will perform the Bhoomi Pujan for the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project at Kaliabor in Nagaon district at 11 AM. The project, valued at over ₹6,950 crore, aims to ensure the safe and uninterrupted movement of wildlife, reduce human-wildlife conflicts, enhance road safety, and improve travel efficiency for both passengers and freight.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will also flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains – the Kamakhya-Rohtak and Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar services – and address a public meeting in Kaliabor before concluding his Assam tour.
