The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by Balendra Shah, is on track for a historic win in Nepal’s House of Representatives elections, securing a clear lead across the country.
Out of 165 constituencies under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) system, final results have been declared in 47 constituencies. The RSP has already won 36 seats and is leading in 83, signaling a potential outright majority.
Other major parties are trailing: Nepali Congress has won 6 seats and is leading in 10, CPN (UML) has 2 wins and 8 leads, and NCP also has 2 wins with 8 leads. Smaller parties like the Shram Sanskriti Party are leading in a few constituencies.
Once the FPTP results are finalized, counting for the 110 proportional representation seats will begin, completing the 275‑member House of Representatives. With this strong showing, Balendra Shah is widely seen as the frontrunner to lead the next government.
