Kharchi Puja Reflects Tripura’s Unity and Cultural Heritage: CM Manik Saha
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has described Kharchi Puja as a powerful symbol of Tripura’s rich cultural heritage, communal harmony, and the deep-rooted bond between tribal and non-tribal communities.
In a social media post after inaugurating the week-long Kharchi Puja fair and cultural programmes at the historic Chaturdash Devata Temple in Khayerpur, the Chief Minister said the festival represents more than a religious tradition. According to him, Kharchi Puja reflects the state’s centuries-old customs, spiritual values, and inclusive cultural identity.
Dr. Saha said the festival, one of Tripura’s oldest and most significant celebrations, brings together people from diverse backgrounds and strengthens the spirit of unity and brotherhood among communities.
Highlighting the importance of the annual festival, the Chief Minister noted that Kharchi Puja provides a platform for cultural exchange while promoting social harmony and preserving the unique heritage of the state.
