Nagaland CM Urges Youth to Champion Humanitarian Work at Red Cross AGM

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has called on young people to take the lead in promoting humanitarian efforts during the 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State Branch (IRCSN) held in Kohima on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, CM Rio described youth as “torchbearers of empathy” and urged them to expand outreach programs, inspiring greater participation to ensure the spirit of voluntary service continues across the state. He highlighted the Red Cross theme, “Keeping Humanity Alive,” emphasizing the need for compassion and service in the face of ongoing global challenges.

Commending the IRCSN for over four decades of dedicated service since its inception in 1982, the Chief Minister praised the organization’s efforts in disaster response, health and hygiene promotion, and blood donation campaigns, which have reached even the most remote corners of Nagaland.
