Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that Assam and other northeastern states have witnessed remarkable development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 11 years. He made the remarks while addressing a public rally in Nagaon district, Assam.
During his visit, Shah inaugurated the redeveloped Mahpurush Srimanta Sankardeva Abirbhav Kshetra at Batadrawa Than, highlighting that the region is now experiencing peace and progress. He also criticized the previous Congress government for neglecting development in Assam.
Later in the day, the Union Minister is scheduled to inaugurate a new building for the Guwahati Police Commissioner and an Intelligence City Surveillance System to strengthen security in the city. He will also open the Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Complex, a 5,000-seat auditorium, and pay homage to martyrs of the Assam movement at the newly constructed Swahid Smarak Kshetra in Guwahati before proceeding to West Bengal.
