PM Modi, Amit Shah Extend Greetings on Jan Aushadhi Diwas
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Jan Aushadhi Diwas on Saturday. In a social media post, he wished all those positively impacted by the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, noting that countless families are saving on healthcare expenses while receiving proper treatment. The Prime Minister added that the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing citizens with access to quality medicines at affordable prices.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his greetings to beneficiaries of the scheme. In a separate post, he highlighted that the initiative has eased the financial burden of medicines for the poor and raised awareness about generic medicines. Mr. Shah noted that approximately 18,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country are offering affordable and accessible medicines, saving citizens over ₹40,000 crore.
