Minister Sudhangshu Das Honour Dr. Ambedkar, Emphasise Social Justice and Inclusion

Minister for SC Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Sudhangshu Das, on Tuesday paid floral tribute to B. R. Ambedkar on the occasion of his 136th birth anniversary at Ujjayanta Palace.

The programme was organised by the Department of SC Welfare and attended by several dignitaries, including Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman and MLA Meena Rani Sarkar.

Speaking at the event, Das highlighted that Dr. Ambedkar’s principles of equality, justice and empowerment remain highly relevant in today’s context. He said these ideals continue to guide government initiatives aimed at inclusive development and the upliftment of marginalised communities.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he noted that efforts are being made to strengthen social justice frameworks, expand access to education and improve welfare measures. He also stressed the importance of remembering Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to ensure harmony, equal rights and sustained social progress.

The event concluded with tributes to Dr. Ambedkar, whose role as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution continues to influence the nation’s democratic values and institutional framework.
