Israel says it struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, issues fresh evacuation warnings

The Israeli military says it has carried out a series of airstrikes targeting infrastructure used by the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, including the Nabatieh area. In a statement, the Israeli Air Force said around 20 additional military targets linked to Hezbollah were also struck.

The military said the operations are aimed at preventing threats to Israeli civilians and maintaining security along the northern border. It also claimed that since the beginning of ceasefire understandings, more than 220 Hezbollah fighters and commanders have been killed in targeted strikes.

In a separate operation, Israel said it conducted a precision strike in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut, killing a commander from Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force unit.

The Israeli army stated that the actions come in response to what it describes as violations of ceasefire arrangements by Hezbollah. It also issued new evacuation warnings for residents in three areas of southern Lebanon, urging civilians to leave ahead of further potential strikes.
