Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Monday chaired a meeting with the secretaries of the rural and urban development department and reviewed the progress of the developmental works and project being implemented under the departments here at Agartala Raj Bhavan.
Secretary of Rural Development Department Sandeep R Rathore, Secretary of Urban Development Department Abhishek Singh and Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dr Shailesh Kumar Yadav were present in the meeting.
During the meeting the Governor laid emphasis on the development of road connectivity in the rural areas of the state and ensure proper roads for the villagers. He inquired about the progress of the project implementation of the departments.
He asked the secretaries and other officials of the Rural Development Department to identify the poor people in the rural areas and give priority to their overall development. He also directed to complete the construction of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana quickly.
Meanwhile, the Governor also stressed on enhancing livelihoods of the people in the rural areas and asked the officials to identify villages and encourage the villagers toward income-based programmes.
