US and UK have impose 3rd round of sanctions on Hamas-affiliated individuals and entities. The coordinated action identifies important Hamas figures as well as Iran backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) militants.
US Secretary of State, Janet Yellen, said Hamas' action have caused immense suffering and shown that terrorism does not occur in isolation. She added that UK and its partners were targeting Hamas's financial infrastructure and blocking any new funding channels. Sanctions have been imposed on senior Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, and five others.
