Heatwave Continues In West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar; Heavy Rainfall Expected In Northeast and Northern India

Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are likely to continue in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar till tomorrow. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that similar conditions will also prevail in the south Peninsular India till Friday. Heat wave conditions are likely over Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh during the next five days and over Central India till Sunday. IMD further said hot and humid weather is very likely to prevail over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe during the next five days. Maximum temperatures in the range of 44 and 47 degrees Celsius are likely to continue over Gangetic West Bengal, East Jharkhand, north Odisha and Rayalaseema till Friday.

Meanwhile, a Heavy rainfall spell accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds is very likely to continue over Northeast India till tomorrow. IMD said that rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are very likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh from the 3rd to the 6th of this month.
